does anyone use the Franke Saphira, Saeco Idea Cappuccino, or the Jura Capresso Impressa Z6 espresso machine?

i am doing a feasibility study and i’ve been trying to find customer reviews on these three machines, any help would be great! thanks!

These are three very expensive so-called "superautomatic" espresso machines, geared towards a commercial establishment that demands production of 100-120 cups/day. The Saphira is generally regarded as overpriced relative to its performance, and I couldn’t find reviews on the Saeco you mentioned. Jura Capresso tends to set the benchmark for this kind of machine, so both in terms of taste and value, that is likely the best of the three. Some of Franke’s high-end machines (not the Saphira) are also quite highly regarded.

Do keep in mind that no superauto currently in existence can beat out a well-trained barista with a La Marzocco, Synesso, or similar quality machine. If you want to be known for the quality of your espresso shots, that’s the way to go.

Still, all three of these machines ought to make an espresso-based beverage pleasing to the average American palate, at the touch of one button, with zero mess. There is something to be said for that.

(Okay you should have a barista come in and program it properly before the first use and tweak it if you switch bean blends)

Here are sample reviews for two:

Jura Capresso Z6:

Franke Saphira (being compared to a number of other machines):

and also

I couldn’t find a review for the Saeco, but it can be purchased here, and this company is well-regarded by the coffee aficionado community. They likely can tell you more about it: http://www.wholelattelove.com/commercial/products/idea_cap.cfm?ItemID=945&CPpage=reviewadd&add=1

And for the basis of my main commentary, in addition to the comparison review link I posted next to the Saphira, you should also read this:

-KS (well actually her husband icon wink does anyone use the Franke Saphira, Saeco Idea Cappuccino, or the Jura Capresso Impressa Z6 espresso machine? )

whats the best dual purpose coffee machines??

I heard that Saeco is the most overpriced machines you can buy and they are in for repair alot, as well the parts are made in china, and they try to come off as an Italian made machine..

If what you mean by dual purpose is coffee/espresso, then Krups makes a very good model. They also make a bad model, so be savvy and look for "bars of pressure". A decent cup of espresso requires at least 9 bars of pressure. One model gives you a coffee maker and a steam pump espresso on the other side, which only provides 4 bars of pressure. The better bet, albeit pricier, is the "pump" model, which provides you the coffee maker and a 15 bar pressure espresso maker.

If you don’t drink more than a cup a day, a better option is the Tassimo machine, which allows you to make coffee, espresso, lattes, cappucinos, tea, and hot chocolate. You do have to buy the pods, but what’s cool is a laser reads the bar code on each pod and adjusts the pressure for each type of drink. The machine is less expensive, but the pods will cost you if you drink 4-5 cups a day like I do. But if you have a starbucks habit, this is certainly a cheaper option!

which is best: Nestle Dulce Gusto coffee machine, or the Braun Tassimo?

which gives the best taste coffee? the best espresso? which has the highest pressure of water (bar)? and does anyone know a site that has an honest objective review/comparison of both these machines please as I don’t know which one to buy
Andy G: nothing wrong with the occasional mug of coffee, quite partial myself when I need a good caffeine fix……..
hmmm…seems it called nescafe dulce gusto not nestle. Nobody seems to know much about their relative merits though.

This site has reviews and good info. on espresso machines:

What is the best Coffee machine?

Hello.

Recently my old coffee machine broke and for service it will cost about £250. So can anyone help me find a nice coffee machine that will do, preferably, more than 2 or 3 types of coffee?

Also, I’m not very into coffee machines so I want to ask…is it true that the more Bar pressure the machine has the better the coffee?

BAR is only used for espresso machines, and they often give 15+ in their specs. There’s a lot more than that involved in a good espresso machine. Regular ground coffee is too large/coarse for a real espresso machine so, if it says to use regular ground coffee it’s not good.

My favorite non-espresso, unfiltered coffee is made with a french press (I actually like Turkish coffee better, but it takes too long for daily consumption). My in-laws use a Kuerig machine, and they love it. I don’t like K-cups since they make more trash (although there is a reusable version).

You could also get a Bialetti Brikka for cheap, simple espresso. It will only make 3-6oz, so a mug of coffee is out, but it’s delicious and quick. The best filtered coffee I’ve had is from my Chemex coffee maker. All you need is a kettle to boil water.
